Prophets Soup - Je Suis Juif

Prior to having the dream about serving a tomato drink with Worcester sauce.

http://healingdough.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/prostrate-and-tomato.html

I had made some new soup to eat. Its like a French onion soup and I offer this recipe for the monks in brown.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onion

1 medium sized onion
2 cloves of garlic
3-4 small potatoes
2 carrots or more if you like
Black pepper to taste
Tablespoon of honey
Olive oil and soya sauce
Handful of Pearl barley
Soup bowl of flour
Oregano and Basil dried herbs

Saute a medium sized onion in some olive oil - two cloves of garlic and some soya sauce. Of course you could use some lea and perrins.

I then added the water to cover it well in the pan once the onions were carmelized.

While simmering I added a few chopped potatoes - a couple of chopped carrots.

Handful of pearl barley and ground black pepper - plus a tablespoon of honey. Add more water.

During the cooking when it was thickening I added more water and made some herb dumplings to cook in the soup. I like to add more water as I am going along - to ensure that I like the consistency.

Near the end of the cooking of the soup - mashed the veg in the soup and make the herb dumplings with oregano and basil. I like a lot of herbs in my dumplings - so add what you like.

The herbs included in the dumplings were oregano and basil. Continue cooking the soup with the dumplings and when the dumplings are ready - soup is ready. Delicious.

So its a good time for a 'prophets' soup isn't it when there is so much going on in France.

I am sure that Nostradamus would approve that we are saying 'JE SUIS JUIF' in England as Jesus was a wonderful Israeli prophet that trained his true followers to be prophets and Lords.

Amazing Apostles - the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few said the Lord of the Harvest.

What else has been on the menu this week. Carrot Cake.

Prostate and Tomato

I had a dream and I was serving a drink - the drink was tomatoes with Worcester sauce. So what does this drink help - no vodka! It would be great with fresh celery for detoxing - for the adrenal glands and kidneys.

Tomatoes are excellent for people with 'Prostate Cancer' and for prevention of it due to the Lycopene.

"Lycopene is a very strong antioxidant" says Meir Stampfer MD - co-author of the study and professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard.  "For some reason those with lycopene in their blood are at a lower risk of prostrate cancer"

"The benefits of tomatoes aren't limited to the prostrate gland. Israeli researchers found that lycopene is also powerful inhibitor of breast - lung and endometrial cancer cells.

Italians eat a lot of tomatoes and the Italian researchers found that people who ate seven or more servings of raw tomatoes a week had a 60 per cent lower chance of
stomach - colon or rectal cancers than folks who ate two servings or less".

Worcester Sauce

The essential ingredients are barley malt vinegar, spirit vinegar, molasses, sugar, salt, anchovies, tamarind extract, onions, and garlic; particular brands add other spices as well to taste.

The sauce is high in sodium and I do eat some fresh anchovies and have some soya sauce for sodium.

I haven't bought Lea and Perrins for years. I used to put some in the meat for the shepherds pie that I used to make for my son. I will definitely get some next time that I go shopping if my budget will allow it. Lea and Perrins is now owned by Heinz.

The History of Lea and Perrins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_W01uiuxvk

The Southern Europeans eat a lot of fresh tomatoes and an onion and tomato salad is good to have after a high protein meal due to it breaking down of the proteins so that the body can digest it more easily. Red onion and spring onion is best and you could just eat a spring onion after your meal.

This dream came after I had made another new soup and I will a make different post on the 'Prophets Soup' for the monks in brown. It includes soya sauce - carmelized  onions - garlic - olive oil - potatoes and carrots with herb dumplings.

Carrot cake as also been on the menu this week as I had some carrots and cream cheese to eat up.

BRUSSELS ONION SOUP

We had the Carmel Brussels at Christmas and for New Year I made another soup to finish up the fresh vegetables in the fridge.

CARMEL BRUSSELS

http://healingdough.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/carmel-brussels.html

In this soup I began with the carmelised onions.

1 medium sized onion
Olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoon of honey
12 brussels sprouts
2 potatoes
4 medium sized carrots
1 tablespoon of soya sauce.
Rock salt and black pepper to taste
Medium sized pan of water
2 tablespoons of Oats

Cover a dish with the oats and a tablespoon of honey mixed in thoroughly. Put the oats in the oven to roast. While the oats are cooking prepare your soup.

Slice a medium sized onion and saute in the olive oil - soya sauce and chopped garlic.

When cooked had your sliced brussels sprouts. The potatoes and carrots chopped with the other tablespoon of honey. Rock salt and black pepper to taste.

When the ingredients are soft enough to mash - include some of the oats from the oven and it will thicken the soup in a delicious and healthy way. I find that the oats give a soup body - like when you include pearl barley into a soup.

Just keep on including the oats one spoonful at a time - stir - taste - until you like it. You can also include some more soya to suit your taste buds.

I didn't put all the oats in the soup. I shall keep those for a different dish or maybe have them with breakfast. They would be lovely with a banana and yoghurt. If the oven is on - you might as well make enough for another day.

The soup was accompanied with small homemade flat breads like little nan.

SUGAR REDUCTION

Better late than never. Happy New Year to you.

Good news is that British families are being asked to reduce the amount of sugar that the children are eating. The age that seems to be the most concern is between 4-10 years old.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30676811

However - as far as I am concerned it begin much earlier than that. What did the mother eat when the baby was in the womb. What did the mother give the baby after birth and did the mother breast feed her baby to increase and improve its immunity.

Sugar - sugar - sugar- its not just refined sugar that a mum has to be concerned about - its also the sugar found in fruit. Too much fruit with natural sugar can also impact on the body. I know a lady that ate a lot of fruit - and she told me that the doctor had told her that she had worn out her pancreas with the quantity of fruit that she had been eating.

Balance is essential.  The good news is that children in British schools will be receiving new menus.
